Embark on an extraordinary two-day adventure to Delphi and Meteora, where ancient mythology, stunning natural beauty, and awe-inspiring architecture come together in a truly unforgettable experience.
After breakfast, we depart from Athens, traveling through the scenic landscapes of Boeotia, passing the historic cities of Thebes and Levadia. Our first destination is Delphi, the legendary "Navel of the World," which was once considered the center of the Earth by the ancient Greeks.
Upon arrival, we will explore the Archaeological Site of Delphi, home to some of the most significant ruins of ancient Greece. Highlights include:
The Temple of Apollo, where the famous Oracle of Delphi once prophesized.
The Theater of Delphi, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding valley.
The Sacred Way, lined with treasures and monuments dedicated by city-states.
After our visit, we continue our journey north, traveling across the Thessalian Plain through the towns of Lamia and Trikala before reaching Kalambaka, a charming town nestled at the foot of the majestic Meteora rock formations. Here, you will have time to explore and shop for unique souvenirs.
Dinner & overnight in Kalambaka.
After breakfast, we set off to discover the breathtaking Meteora Monasteries, a UNESCO World Heritage site. These awe-inspiring monasteries, perched atop towering rock pillars, were built by monks seeking isolation and spiritual elevation.
During our guided tour, we will visit two Byzantine Monasteries, each offering remarkable religious treasures, stunning frescoes, and panoramic views over the plains of Thessaly.
Our journey back to Athens includes a short stop at Thermopylae, where we will pay homage to the heroic King Leonidas and his 300 Spartans, who fought valiantly against the Persian army in 480 BC.
We arrive back in Athens in the early evening, bringing with us unforgettable memories of ancient wonders and spectacular landscapes.
