A Journey Through Greek Flavors
Embark on a delightful culinary adventure through the historical center of Athens, where Greek tradition and gastronomy come to life. This interactive walking tour offers an authentic taste of local flavors, taking you to some of the city's most charming eateries and specialty shops. Whether you're a food lover or simply curious about Greek traditions, this tour is an excellent way to immerse yourself in Athens' vibrant culinary culture.
Led by an English-speaking assistant, the tour covers approximately 4 km and lasts about 3 hours. As we stroll through the heart of Athens, you'll have the opportunity to sample traditional drinks and delicacies while learning about Greece’s rich culinary heritage.
Our first stop is a small traditional café in Plaka, where we enjoy a glass of ouzo paired with a selection of meze — small traditional appetizers that perfectly complement the iconic Greek spirit.
We then visit a nice delicatessen in the city center for a tasting of Greek wine, tsipouro, and meze, offering a deeper insight into Greece’s beloved drinks and flavors.
Next, we indulge in an essential part of Greek street food, savoring a souvlaki wrapped in pita bread, accompanied by a refreshing Greek beer.
Our journey concludes at a traditional “kafeneio” (coffee shop) in Monastiraki Square, where we enjoy a traditional baklava alongside an aromatic Greek coffee — a perfect ending to our flavorful experience. Tour finishes at Monastiraki Square, leaving you free to continue exploring the city.
