Exploring the Highlights of Athens
Discover the rich history and vibrant contrasts of Athens on this expertly guided half-day sightseeing tour, perfect for both first-time visitors and those looking to delve deeper into the city's iconic landmarks.
Our tour begins with a photo stop at the Panathenaic Stadium, the only stadium in the world built entirely of white marble, where the first modern Olympic Games were held in 1896. We continue our panoramic drive through the city, passing by some of Athens' most significant landmarks, including:
The Zappeion Hall and the Temple of Olympian Zeus, once one of the largest temples in ancient Greece.
The Athens Trilogy—an impressive collection of neoclassical buildings housing the University of Athens, the Academy of Athens, and the National Library.
The Parliament Building and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, where you can witness the ceremonial guard of the Evzones in their traditional uniform.
Other architectural and historical gems, including Hadrian’s Arch, the National Garden, Schliemann’s House (Numismatic Museum), St. Paul’s Church, the Catholic Cathedral, the Old Parliament, Constitution Square (Syntagma), and the Russian Orthodox Church.
Arriving at the Acropolis, we step back in time to explore one of the greatest achievements of ancient Greece. The tour takes us through its architectural masterpieces, including the grand Propylaea, the Temple of Athena Nike, the Erechtheion with its famous Caryatids, and, of course, the majestic Parthenon, a symbol of harmony and classical beauty.
A short walk leads us to the Acropolis Museum, where we admire a stunning collection of artifacts, including statues from the Archaic period, everyday items from ancient Athens, and the original Caryatids. The highlight of the museum is the Parthenon Hall, displaying the breathtaking frieze, pediments, and metopes from the Acropolis itself.
After an inspiring journey through Athens' ancient and modern wonders, we return to the hotel, leaving you with unforgettable memories of this historic city.
