Day by Day Program
Day 1 – Athens
Upon arrival at Athens International Airport, you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel. Balance of the day at leisure.
If time permits depending on your arrival time to Athens, you may enjoy one of our optional tours. (Cape Sounion or Athens By Night Tour with Traditional Greek show).
Overnight stay in Athens.
Day 2 – Athens
After breakfast at hotel, pick up for our Athens Sightseeing Tour. Our Athens Half Day Tour begins with a panoramic drive around Syntagma square, passing by many sightseeing hot spots such as National Garden, Hadrian’s Arch, St. Paul’s Church, Parliament, Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Catholic Cathedral and Schliemann’s House. We will then drive past the Athens Trilogy which includes the University of Athens, the Academy of Athens, and the National Library. Our licensed guide will make you feel as if you are experiencing firsthand Athens’s old and new history as you look at these stately buildings. We continue for a photo stop at Panathenaic Stadium, otherwise known as Kallimarmaro Stadium, where the first Olympic Games took place in 1896. As we proceed, we pass by Zappeion and the Temple of Olympian Zeus. Last but not least, we make our way to the archaeological site of Acropolis, an UNESCO’S world heritage monument and we visit Propylae, as well as the small Temple of Athena Nike. Of course, our visit shall not be completed without the Parthenon and Erechtheion. The expert guided Athens sightseeing and museum tour continues with a pleasant short walk passing by Herodion and Dionysos Theater, in order to visit the New Acropolis Museum.

At the end of our tour, return back to your hotel.

Day 3 – Athens – Nafplio
After breakfast we depart to Peloponnese, passing the Isthmus of Corinth, the narrow strip of land that connects the Peloponnese to the mainland and separates the Corinthian and Saronic Gulfs. On our arrival in Nafplio we check in in our hotel and after having our lunch at a traditional tavern we visit the most important spots of the city, searching for traces of the Franks, Venetians and Ottomans in its architecture, while enjoy the scents of the basils and Jasmines that are so characteristics for the city and its castles.
Day 4 – Argolis – Epidaurus
After breakfast we visit Mycenae, the kingdom of mythical Agamemnon, first sung by Homer in his epics, which is the most important and richest palatial center of the Late Bronze Age in Greece. After having lunch at a picturesque village of the area our next stop is the Sanctuary of Asclepius at Epidaurus which is considered one of the purest masterpieces of Greek architecture – date from the 4th century. Finally, we return back to Nafplio and we explore Palamidi Castle and its amazing views.
Day 5 – Mystras – Monemvasia
In the morning we drive to Mystras, among the most important of all Byzantine sites, comprising a castle, city walls, churches and monasteries. We have our lunch before departing to the medieval walled town/castle of Monemvasia, where we explore the castle’s history and architecture, starting with the picturesque Venetian Lower Town before ascending the heavily fortified plateau above. Overnight at Monemvasia.
Day 6 – Mani – Kalamata
After breakfast we depart to Mani and its traditional villages, including the coastal Gytheio- the largest and most important town in Mani, the picturesque Areopoli, the gorgeous coastal village Limeni and Kardamyli. Following the coastline of Mani we finally arrive in our coastal hotel in Kalamata and our evening is free to enjoy some shopping or strolling through the lovely old town.
Day 7 – Ancient Messene – Ancient Olympia
We leave Kalamata for ancient Messene, the stunning capital built for the Messenians in the 4th century BC. We explore the unusually well-preserved remains of the city and one of the finest ancient stadiums in Greece. Later, we traverse the lush countryside of Northern Messenia to enter the territory of ancient Elis. After having lunch at a traditional farm, we explore Ancient Olympia and the remains of all the sports structures erected for the Olympic Games, which were held in Olympia every four years beginning in 776 B.C. Overnight stay in Olympia.
Day 8 – Nafpaktos
We cross over the famous suspension bridge from Rion to Antirion. We drive to the picturesque town of Nafpaktos, also known as Lepanto, which is a municipality and a city in the peripheral unit of Aetolia – Acarnania, on the north coast that separates the Gulf of Patras from the Gulf of Corinth in Greece.
During our stay at Nafpaktos, we will have the opportunity to visit some great monuments, such as the Statue of Miguel de Cervantes at the port of Nafpaktos, a Venetian port, with the stone lighthouse and the old fortress walls of the city stretching from the port to the castle. Transfer to hotel in Nafpaktos and overnight.
Day 9 – Ioannina
Today we travel to the region of Epirus. First stop is Dodoni – The Oracle of Zeus and one of the most ancient of oracles in Greece. Finally we arrive at Ioannina. the capital of Epirus, spreads out around beautiful Lake Pamvotida. After having lunch in one of the lake restaurants it is time to discover this picturesque and historical city. Wonderful buildings like the House Matei Hussein, the Ottoman mosque of Veli Pasha and the entire historic centre of the town are unique attractions. We also visit the imposing castle of Ioannina where Ali Pasha, that enigmatic symbol of Ottoman rule, lived here.
Day 10 – Zagoria – Metsovo – Kalambaka
Today we visit the natural environment of Vikos-Aoos National Park where 46 stone villages of great architectural value have been listed as traditional settlements. We will visit the most remarkable sights of the are, such as Kalpaki, Papago, Vikos and Monodentri. After having lunch we follow the mountainous road to Metsovo a small village in the slopes of Pindos mountain, famous for its wineries and also for its local dairy products. We enjoy a short walking tour in the central square and the nearby cobblestone paths of the village and finally we travel to Kalambaka for overnight stay.
Day 11 – Kalambaka – Meteora – Delphi
After breakfast discover Meteora- the miracle of Greece. The area of Meteora and the Monasteries of Meteora are among the most important monuments in the world, protected by UNESCO, and definitely one of the most significant sites in Greece. Many centuries ago, on these gigantic rocks with the breathtaking landscape reaching heights of more than 600 meters, it was formed one of the most important monastic communities of Greece. In the evening we depart to Delphi for overnight stay.
Day 12 – Delphi – Athens
Today we cross the Gulf of Corinth and we are heading first to Monastery of Osios Loukas, a breath-taking Byzantine monastery in a picturesque valley full of olive and almond trees near the town of Distomo. After lunch we are heading to the pan-Hellenic sanctuary of Delphi, where we enjoy a guided tour in the site where in the 6th century B.C. was indeed the religious center and symbol of unity of the ancient Greek world, blending harmoniously with the superb landscape and charged with sacred meaning.
After our visit we depart to Athens, early evening we arrive in Athens, check in to our Hotel and free time to enjoy your last night in Athens and Greece.
Day 13 – Athens – Departure
Breakfast at the hotel and according to your departure flight, transfer to Athens International Airport.
