Optional visit to the house-museum of the renowned writer A. Papadiamantis
Breakfast at hotel and start our day with an optional visit to the house-museum of famous 19th-century Greek novelist and short-story writer Alexandros Papadiamantis, who is looked on as the father of modern Greek literature, and whose writings draw upon the difficult lives of the islanders he grew up with. This two-story building, with stone walls and wooden roof with tiles, built in 1860 by his father, the island’s priest, constitutes a representative sample of Skiathos’ architectural style and it is one of the few buildings in island that has not been subjected to modern changes. This house is located about 100 meters inland from the eastern coast of the city, in a narrow street and is characterized as a historic protected monument. Visiting the place where one of the most famous Greek writers lived and died is very interesting, as you can find objects used by the author, among them the pen and the inkwell that he used, to write his 180 narratives.
Alternatively, you can visit the famous beaches of Koukounaries and/or Lalaria and enjoy their clean waters under the warm sun. Koukounaries Beach, renowned for its golden sands and serene pine forest backdrop, and Lalaria Beach, famous for its striking white pebbles and dramatic rock formations, showcase the unparalleled natural beauty of Skiathos.

Optional “Mamma Mia” tour
After breakfast at the hotel, we start our optional organized (SIC - shared) tour in order to get to know all the important locations where the popular film “Mamma Mia” took place.
We depart from Skopelos town early in the morning and go past the historic cape of Stafylos and its stunning beach, as well as Agnontas, a small leeward bay used as a subsidiary harbor. We then find Panormos, a small waterside settlement with numerous taverns and we see the famous beaches of Milia and Kastani from the road above. We also see the coastal village Neo Klima, where the green of the pine trees meets the blue of the sea. We move to Palaio Klima, the village which, at the beginning of the 1980s, was gradually abandoned by its residents to build the Neo Klima. Palaio Klima, has old stone houses built amphitheatrically and overlooks the Aegean Sea. Later on, we find Glossa, a traditional village built on top of a hill, with picturesque streets and cobbled alleys, where the superb view truly charms the visitor. Later on, we arrive at the magnificent chapel of Agios Ioannis which was one of the locations used for filming the hit musical movie ‘Mamma Mia’. Afterwards, we set off for the beautiful beach of Perivoliou, where we stay for about 3 hours, giving us the opportunity to enjoy swimming and sunbathing. On our way back, we make a brief stop at one of the island’s oil presses, where we can see how the virgin olive oil of Skopelos is produced.
After the tour, early in the afternoon, return to the hotel for leisure.
Overnight stay in Skopelos.
Optional cruise to Alonissos
Breakfast at hotel and depart for an optional full day cruise to Alonissos island, part of a National Marine Park, protecting 10 percent of the world’s endangered Monachus Monachus (monk seals) seal population.
We depart in the morning from Skopelos port and 30 minutes later we arrive at Patitiri, the port of Alonissos, with a great variety of shops and restaurants, where we stay for approximately 2 hours. During your free time in Patitiri, we would suggest to visit (by bus) the “Palia Alonissos” or “Palia hora”, the old village which is located above Patitiri, on the top of the hill. It is worth walking through the narrow streets of the village among the stone houses where you can enjoy the breathtaking view of the sea and the neighboring little islands. We return at the boat and depart for “Leftos Gialos”, a stunning beach for swimming. We stay there for about 1:30 hour and we then depart for the beautiful and picturesque port of Steni Vala for lunch or swimming. Our tour guide will inform us about the history of the island as well as the history of the neighboring islands.
